Access Statement For Malindi Holiday Flats

 

Introduction

Our self catering accommodation is a mid terraced property situated on the sea front overlooking the Irish Sea. It was built in 1895 with access to the front and rear of the property. The rear entrance is used for car owners. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.

 

Pre-Arrival
 
We have our own website www.blackpoolholidayflats.com and are also listed in the Blackpool Holiday Guide and Blackpool Self Catering Holiday Association website. We are 5-10 minutes walk away from Blackpool North Train Station and Talbot Road Bus Station. A list of useful information can be found in each flat. Some brochures and information on various entertainments in the town are on display in the main hallway. The Tourist information Centre is about 5 minutes walk away at Talbot Square. There is a taxi rank at Talbot Square and local transport bus stops throughout the town centre. 

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
 
Luggage can be unloaded at the front or back of the property but please be aware there are double yellow lines on the Promenade at the front. There is a resident’s private car park at the rear of the property accessible from Filey Place, off Banks St. We have parking for 9 cars and allow one car space per flat. The entrance at the front has 10 steps 17 cm high 43 cm deep 123 cm wide. It has a hand rail on the right. The door is 85 cm wide (hinged on the right). The entrance at the rear is used for drivers of vehicles and guests to unload their luggage. Guests may depart at the end of their stay from the rear of the property if required.

 

Main Entrance & Reception

 

Through the main front entrance and middle door we have a hallway 190cm wide x 500 cm long. There is a 12 step flight of stairs 17 cm high x 27 cm deep x 95 cm wide to the first landing with a banister on the right. Continuing straight ahead is access to Flat 1 and Flat 2. 6 steps 16 cm high x 20 cm deep x 70cm wide x length of hallway in front 1 & 2 Flats is 375 cm long. Back to the first landing and continuing up the second flight of 8 steps (dimensions all the same as the first flight) to the first floor landing with access to Flats 3 & 4. Continue up a 3rd flight of 12 steps to a 3rd landing where there are 4 steps 19 cm high x 22 cm deep x 84 cm wide to Flat 6. Back to the 3rd landing and continue up 8 steps to the top (second floor) where there is access to flats 7 & 8. Access to Ground Middle Flat on the ground floor is along a hallway 500 cm long x 100 cm wide which is at the side of the first staircase.

 

Public Areas - General (Internal)
 
• In case of emergency guests will proceed down the staircase and exit through the main entrance. All floors either in the flats or staircase and landings are covered with carpet, except for the toilets in LG, GF, GM, 3, 4. We have no public telephone due to the fact that all our guests have been using mobiles. But if a guest requires the use of a telephone for emergency or to phone for a taxi we can accommodate their needs. Please ring the bell in the hallway in front of GM Flat for assistance. There is extra fluorescent lighting on the ground floor first and second floor for guests to use when required. There are some plastic garden chairs beside the main entrance which guests may use in the yard space at the front of the building. All Flat doors are standard 'fire doors' with fitted 'door closures'. You are given your own set of keys; a front door, middle door and flat door key, with the exception of Lower Ground Flat which has their own front and second door keys plus the two main entrance keys. You can rent a baby high chair or baby cot when making your booking please ask for details.

There is a small metal gate to the front of the property. A flat flag stoned surface area to the front which can be used by guests with garden chairs available at the front door. Please return the chairs when you have finished with them. You may smoke outside in the yard space.

All sleeping quarters have their own individuality as each flat is different in size and shape.
Lower Ground Front Flat (Own Sea Front Entrance) Sleeps 2-6. Spacious lounge with 4ft bed settee. Large bedroom with 4ft double bed, 3ft single and 2.5ft single.
Ground Floor Front Flat (Sea View) Sleep 2-6. Spacious lounge with bed settee,
and two separate bedrooms with 4.5ft double beds in each room.
Ground Floor Middle Sleeps 2 in the living room on a 4.5ft double bed.
Flat 1 First Floor Sleeps 2 in the lounge on a 4.5ft double bed with space for a 2.5ft Z-bed.
Flat 2 First Floor Sleeps 2 in the lounge on a 4.5ft double bed.
Flat 3 First Floor Sleeps 2 in the lounge on 2 x 3ft single beds.
Flat 4 First Floor (Sea View) Sleeps 2-5 Separate bedroom with 4.5ft double bed and 4ft wall bed in the lounge. There’s space to fit 2.5ft Z bed in the lounge.
Flat 6 Second Floor Sleeps 2-5. Separate bedroom with 4ft double bed and 2.5ft single bed and bed settee in the lounge.
Flat 7 Second Floor (Sea View) Sleeps 2-5. Separate bedroom with 4.5ft double bed and a 4.ft wall bed in the lounge with space for a 2.5ft Z bed.

• Malindi is situated on the North Promenade, within two minutes walk from North Pier in a beautiful spot, directly overlooking the Irish Sea and Princess Parade Crazy Golf Course.
• Just a few minutes walk to the shops, Town centre, Winter Gardens, Tower and all entertainments.
• There's a Residents Car Park at the rear of the property.
• Sorry, no pets.
• We strongly recommend that our guests take out holiday insurance.
• High chairs, cot and Z-bed available on request.
